2014 was a bitter sweet year. H2S [House Head Speaks] was at a standstill for a while. There were personal issues that had to be dealt with before H2S can move forward. We still had a successful year, a great showing at the House of Sol followed by the 2 year anniversary of H2S On-Live: Chicago House Experience. The House Nation was saddened by the passing of Frankie Knuckles and Andre Harris! We appreciate the love and support received throughout the world. Allow me to address these topics through my words.
The passing of Frankie Knuckles was a huge blow for me and the entire House Community. This man was and is the GodFather of House Music! He gave this music to my fair city of Chicago and we should be thankful every time we attend an event or hear a track. I only met the man once but I grew up with his music and the foundation he laid for us. Frankie Knuckles had the answer for the Death of Disco. He made it possible for venues to play underground dance music (House Music). Chicago threw an awesome tribute for our GodFather! I know he looked on with that million dollar smile! Thank you Frankie for your love and your gift of House Music!! Always!!
We suffered another loss with the passing of Andre Harris. This man had a presence that made you felt welcome. We hung out on occasions and knew some of the same group of people. He was a great DJ/Producer but more than that he was a great gent! He loved a party and was very supported of the House Music scene. There are no words. I miss you big man! You will always be in my heart!
In spite of it all, we are still here!! We will keep growing our brand and give notice to all you House Heads out there. We are not going anywhere!
H2S On-Live: Chicago House Experience celebrated its 3rd year as part of Undergroundhouse.tv broadcasting crew. We continue to bring the best DJs/Produces of the House Music scene. We can’t thank you enough for tuning in each month.
Last year’s House of Sol was the toughest one to date. We manage to pull it together and it was an absolute blast! Thank you Chicago House Junkiez for awesome support. Let’s make it even better for 2015.
Parlour on Clark was an experience of a lifetime! I was sad the place closed but the memories will stay with me forever. Thank you Campo Alegre’s Funky Blackman and the former staff at Parlour for the wonderful opportunity.
As 2014 comes to a close, H2S [House Heads Speaks] will continue to bring awareness to the House Community. We would like to thank those who shows love and support for House Head Speaks: 5 Magazine and its staff, Spencer Young and DJs of Undergroundhouse.tv, all our Guests DJs/Producers of H2S On-Line, T Mixwell of Beat Chemistry, Carlos Vazquez and the members of Chicago House Junkiez, Mr. LatinHouse and his family, my awesome web designers, all of Chicago House clubs and venue and every House Head who supports us!
Let me leave you with this thought. I noticed a number of peeps are letting their egos get the better of them and think they are bigger than this scene. Let me break it down to you. It takes a village to keep the House Nation going. If you are too big for House, you can let the door hit you on the way out. I will not allow this scene to die because of a few egomaniacs! Be mindful of your actions or it will come back to bite you. Stop hating on others and continue supporting one another! It’s more fun that way! This House Head Has Spoken!!
